- 12 oz canned chickpeas (drained)
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 2 green onions, minced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (or chickpea flour)
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup grapeseed oil (or other neutral oil, for frying)
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt (or plant-based alternative)
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp fresh dill, minced
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tsp sea salt
- Drain and pat dry the chickpeas. Mash them in a large bowl until coarse.
- Add cumin, green onions, garlic, flour, egg, and seasonings to the mashed chickpeas; mix well.
- Heat grapeseed oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.
- Shape mixture into patties and fry each for 3–4 minutes on both sides until golden brown.
- For the yogurt sauce, combine Greek yogurt, lemon juice, dill, garlic, and salt in a bowl.
- Serve warm patties with the yogurt sauce.
