  • 2 large egg whites
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • Candy eyeballs and/or mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a clean bowl, beat the egg whites at medium-low speed until frothy.
  3. Add cream of tartar and mix until combined.
  4. Gradually add sugar one tablespoon at a time while continuing to beat until stiff peaks form.
  5. Fold in vanilla extract gently.
  6. Transfer meringue to a piping bag fitted with a 1/2” tip and pipe ghost shapes onto prepared sheets.
  7. Decorate with candy eyeballs and mini chocolate chips as mouths.
  8. Bake for about an hour until dry and crisp; leave in the oven to cool for 1-2 hours.
