Ingredients

Scale
  • ¾ cup warm milk
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg + 1 egg yolk
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • Blue gel food coloring
  • ½ cup crushed chocolate sandwich cookies
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup mini chocolate chips
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2–3 tablespoons milk (adjust for consistency)
  • ½ cup crushed chocolate cookies
  • Extra mini chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast; let sit until foamy (about 5 minutes). Then mix in sugar, egg, egg yolk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  2. Gradually add flour and salt until combined. Knead in blue food coloring until evenly distributed. Let rise for 1 to 1½ hours.
  3. For the filling, mix softened butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, crushed cookies, and mini chocolate chips together.
  4. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread the filling evenly on top, roll tightly from one side, and cut into 12 rolls.
  5. Place in a greased baking dish; let rise for another 30 to 45 minutes. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for about 20 to 25 minutes until golden.
  6. For the icing, beat cream cheese and butter until smooth; gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Adjust consistency with milk if needed.
  7. Drizzle warm rolls with icing and sprinkle with extra cookie crumbles before serving.
