  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar (packed)
  • 11/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 large apple, peeled and chopped
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar for topping
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon for topping
  • 3/4 cups confectioners’ sugar for glaze
  • 2 tablespoons water for glaze

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8.5 x 4.5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cream butter and sugar until smooth; add eggs one at a time.
  4. Alternately mix in dry ingredients and milk until just combined.
  5. Fold in the apple mixture of brown sugar and cinnamon.
  6. Layer the batter with the apple mixture in the pan, swirling gently.
  7. Sprinkle the topping mixture over the top.
  8. Bake for 45-55 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Cool before glazing with confectioners' sugar mixed with water and cinnamon.
