  • 1 lb. ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. In a large pot over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside, leaving the grease in the pan.
  2. Add ground beef to the same pot and brown it while breaking it apart.
  3. Once browned, drain excess grease if necessary. Stir in cooked bacon, beef broth, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper if using.
  4. Let simmer on low for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened.
  5. Stir in butter until melted for added richness.
  6. Serve hot with optional toppings like cheese or avocado.
