  • 1 tablespoon corn starch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • ¼ cup cream
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla
  • ¾ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

Instructions

  1. Prepare the apple filling: Cook chopped apples with brown sugar, lemon juice, and spices in a saucepan until softened (5-10 minutes). Set aside.
  2. Soak the bread: Cut French bread into cubes, whisk together eggs, milk, cream, sugar, and spices in a separate bowl. Pour over bread cubes and let soak for 15 minutes.
  3. Make the pecan topping: Combine melted butter with maple syrup and chopped pecans.
  4. Assemble: Preheat oven to 350°F. Line muffin pan with parchment paper. Fill each cavity with soaked bread mixture and create a dent for the apple filling. Spoon apple mixture on top and bake for 10 minutes.
